Jason Isaacs is The Inquisitor 07/18/2014
Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that Jason Isaacs will be joining the Star Wars universe. In an exciting new villainous role he will play The Inquisitor in Disney's upcoming animated series, "Star Wars Rebels".
The Inquisitor is a member of the Pau'an race whose job it is to hunt down the remaining Jedi after the Clone Wars.
“He’s cold, he’s analytical, he doesn’t get angry,” said Lucasfilm Story Group’s Pablo Hidalgo. “We all took care to make sure our villains have real presence and our heroes just can’t walk all over him. This isn’t like cartoons I grew up with in the 80s where you’d have the villain lose every week and yet every week we’d have to believe he’s some sort of threat. When The Inquisitor shows up, it means something significant and it’s a definite challenge for our heroes.”
Isaac's British voice is the perfect choice for conveying intellect and menace in the role.
The Star Wars Rebels series will premier this Fall on Disney Channel.
